13 Days of Halloween

Something spooky begins at Westland Area Library on October 19! Come to the library during the 13 Days of Halloween for activities for all
throughout the entire 13 days, check out our special Halloween tape town in the Youth Services Program room and find the ghosts
haunting the Youth Services area and get a spooky surprise!

Oct 19 - Not-too-spooky Preschool Storytime 10:30 a.m.

Oct 20 - Design your own jack-o-lantern all day in the Youth Services Department

Oct 21 - Disney Movie Saturday-The Nightmare before Christmas, 3 p.m.

Oct 22 - Halloween I Spy bottles, All day

Oct 23 - Franklin County Coroner for Teens ages 13-17, 6:30 p.m.

Oct 24 - Spooky Tunes Music and Movement Storytime, 10:30 a.m.

Oct 24 - Slime Workshop & Pumpkin Guts, 6:30 p.m.

Oct 25 - Not-too-spooky Toddler Storytime, 10:30 a.m.

Oct 26 - Not-too-spooky Preschool Storytime, 10:30 a.m.

Oct 27 - Creepy Color by Number, All day

Oct 28 - Boo-a-pa-looza Costume Party, 11:30 a.m.

Oct 29 - Halloween Scattergories, all day.

Oct 30 - Horrorgami, All day.

Oct 31 - Spooky Tunes Music and Movement Storytime, 10:30 a.m.

Help for Caregivers of Seniors Workshop

Please join local author Donna Trickett and her husband Nelson for this informational workshop. Donna and Nelson were caregivers to their parents and have been speakers for the Alzheimer’s Association for over 10 years.

Both parts will be held at Grove City Library and begin at 7 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 5
Part 1: Legal, Financial, Housing, Record Keeping. 
This workshop will provide useful information for caregivers of seniors on topics ranging from financial concerns, medical appointments, legal issues, and steps that can be taken to find a good attorney, advisor, doctor, and housing facility. 

Thursday, Oct. 12
Part 2: Emotional and Relational Issues. 
This workshop will provide many real world examples and ideas to help you better relate to your aging loved one. You will learn new ways to deal with dementia and fear as well as self care tips and ways to deal with any guilt you may be feeling.

DIY Mini Marble Pumpkins

Westland Area Library's Adult Services staff will lead a DIY Mini Marble Pumpkins and Decorating program at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14.

Create colorful marble pumpkins simply using nail polish and water! We will also provide other craft supplies you may use. One mini pumpkin will be provided, but bring your own to create additional masterpieces

Registration is required and limited to 15. Please call 614-878-1301 ex 603 or stop by the Reference department to sign up.
