Summer Scribbles Youth Writing Contest 2015

Students in grades seven through 12 are invited to enter the sixth annual Summer Scribbles Youth Writing & Poetry Contest to be held at Southwest Public Libraries beginning June 1. The contest, sponsored by the Grove City Writers’ Group and Friends of the Library, is open to any incoming seventh and eighth grade student or incoming high school student who lives within the boundaries of South-Western City Schools. The 7th/8th grade division will have two categories – fiction and poetry. The High School division will have four categories – fiction, non-fiction/essay on a general topic, non-fiction/essay on Grove City or Jackson Township history, and poetry. Prizes in all categories will be: first place - $100; second place - $25.  In addition, the Shawn T. Hannon Memorial Excellence in Writing Award is open to any student age 18 or under for an essay of 800 words or less using a patriotic theme.

AND, beginning June 1, in the Youth Section of both the Grove City Library and the Westland Area Library. Contest ends July 31. Responsibilities include:

Answering information requests in person, by phone or electronically,
Providing technology assistance and training for a wide range of public computer users.
College Degree Required (MLIS encouraged, but not required) as well as relevant customer service skills, strong knowledge of computers, and the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
Flexibility essential.

Work schedule varies - Days, evenings and weekends required.
Starting salary: $13.13 per hour
