Book Club Kits
Are you looking for fellow book lovers to discuss your favorite novels with? Consider starting a book club. SPL has the tools you need.
Westland Area Library, 4740 W. Broad St., and Grove City Library, 3359 Park St., both have assembled Book Club Kits for patrons to check out and use for starting their own book clubs.
Each kit contains 10 copies of a title along with possible discussion questions, guidelines and other suggestions for how to get a club going. The kits also contain background information on the author, a brief description of the book and clips of reviews.
The kits are in black-and-blue SPL bags located near the Reference Desks of both libraries. Each kit contains a different book. The entire kit is to be checked out under one patron’s account, and that patron will be responsible for the kit, along with any fines or late fees that might accumulate. All books and items in a kit should be returned together, not individually.
Women's Civic Club has Long History of Supporting the Library
The Women's Civic Club of Grove City is celebrating 100 years of service. The history of the club and the Grove City Library have been intertwined for nearly all that time.
In this Grove City Record article by Alan Froman, SPL Director Mark Shaw describes the early history of the library with the club and the strong bond that remains today.
