Tips for Reserving Books Featured on the SPL Website

The SPL website features a variety of books and library materials. The Library Materials Catalog can be used to check item availability or reserve an item that is not available.

To make it easier for you to check the catalog, each feature book includes a hyperlink to the catalog that will perform a title search.

For best results, cookies should be enabled. The cookie will allow you to store items in your book bag, and check out one time. The cookies will not be stored on your computer, and will disappear when you close the browser window.

If you choose to disable cookies, you can still use the 'Reserve Book' links, but you must proceed to check out after each item.

To enable cookies using Internet Explorer (version 5.5):

Pull down the 'Tools' menu to 'Internet Options'.
Click on the 'Security' tab.
Click on 'Custom Level.'
Scroll down the list to cookies, and click on the radio button in front of 'enable' under 'Allow per-session cookies'.
Click on the 'OK' button at the bottom of the 'Security Options' and 'Internet Options' windows.
Click 'Yes' on the warning box that asks "Are you sure you want to change the security settings for this zone?"

To enable cookies using Netscape Navigator (version 6):

Pull down the 'Edit' menu to 'Preferences'.
Click the arrow in front of 'Advanced' from the menu on the left.
Click on 'Cookies' under 'Advanced'.
Click the radio button in front of 'Enable all cookies'.
Click the 'OK' button.

To enable cookies using AOL (version 6.0):

Click on 'Settings'.
Select 'Preferences'.
Select 'Internet Properties'.
Go to step 2 for Internet Explorer (listed above).
