How do I get a Library Card for my child?

Children of all ages are eligible for a Discovery Place Library card. Your child must be an Ohio resident to register for a library card. After completing the library card application at any Discovery Place location, the parent or guardian must sign for a minor (under age 18) and present identification that has the parent’s or guardian’s name and current address, such as a driver’s license, checkbook, or employment identification card.

What are the borrowing limits on my child's library card?

For the first three weeks with a new library card, your child may check out five items at a time. After three weeks, the limits are 50 books, 20 audio items (compact disks and cassettes), a combination of 5 videotapes or DVD’s, and 5 CD-roms.

What if I don't want my child to check out videos?

Parents must give video consent at the time of card registration in order to allow the child to check videos out on the card. Parents can also restrict only R-rated videos from a child's card.

For additional information on obtaining a library card, please contact the library.
