Bring a friend and enjoy a talk from the author with a book signing to follow. Books by Haddix will be available for purchase at both events courtesy of Cover to Cover Books. Haddix’s newest book, The Ghostly Photos, book two in the Mysteries of Trash and Treasure series, will be published in September of 2023 and be available for checkout at both SPL libraries. Check out book one of the series, The Secret Letters, to be ready to read book two as soon as you meet the author!

Margaret Peterson Haddix (born April 9, 1964) is an American writer known best for the two children's series, Shadow Children (1998–2006) and The Missing (2008–2015). She also wrote the 10th volume in the multiple-author series The 39 Clues. Haddix grew up on a farm about halfway between two small towns in Ohio: Washington Court House and Sabina. She grew up in a family of readers. Some of her favorite books growing up included E.L. Konigsburg books, Harriet the Spy, Anne of Green Gables, Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women, The Diary of Anne Frank, Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm, and The Little Princess. She graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with degrees in English/journalism, English/Creative writing, and History. Her books have won many literary awards, including the Ohioana Library Association’s Book Award for Juvenile Literature and the Buckeye Children’s and Teen Book Award.
